This is far from our standard blog post about carpet related issues. It is more of a tribute to the eight men that I am honored to work with day in and day out. Seems appropriate for Valentine’s Day right? So my question is this – is it possible to love your co-workers?
Well, for me one of them is very easy to love – and I love him more than I ever thought possible. He’s my husband. We share our lives and we share work responsibilities. I simply couldn’t be more blessed.
The other seven are the real subject of this tribute. They are the back-bone of our carpet cleaning business. They range in age from 20 to 46. They are intelligent, kind, and honest men. I am grateful to know them and I am blessed to work with them. This kind of a gift doesn’t happen too often.
These men are kind, and we all know that kindness goes a long way in this world. They all follow that “golden rule” and treat people they way they would like to be treated. They are respectful to our customers, to me, and even to those who are not so deserving of their respect. And oh my, these men are tolerant. I make mistakes on occasion and they forgive so easily. Just last week, I forgot to transfer payroll and their direct deposit was delayed by a day. Not a single one complained or asked for a hand-written check, which was offered. All I heard was, “it’s no big deal”, “tomorrow’s fine”, and “there’s nothing to forgive”. These men make me smile. Every day.
How many people can say that they love each and every person that they work with? I don’t suspect many, and for that reason I thank these men. Thank you Greg, thank you Sam, thank you Edgar, thank you Joey, thank you Senior, thank you Junior, and thank you Issaih. You make this world a better place.
